250 participants from research and science met in March 2023 for the National SNSF Corona Research Conference in Thun. About 80 research groups of the National Research Programmes “Covid-19 in Society” (NRP 80) and “Covid-19” (NRP 78) as well as other Corona research projects presented their results. The interdisciplinary exchange between natural and human sciences was stimulated in various workshops as well as poster sessions. Top-class keynote speeches and panel discussions rounded off the successful program.

For NRP 80, the National SNSF Corona Research Conference was the kick-off event. For NRP 78, however, it was the final event. On the one hand, the final results of the research projects on pandemic control were presented. On the other hand, the exchange of experiences was used to formulate concrete recommendations on how to better prepare for and cope with future health crises as well as to define the role that science can play in this process. These recommendations, together with the research results of NRP 78, will be published in the final report this fall.
