With a mental illness, work is not necessarily a burden for those affected. On the contrary: without work, a large part of the daily structure is missing and often there is no social network, which can exacerbate certain symptoms.
Dr Jochen Uebel, Head of Work Integration, Aarau Klinik Schützen outpatient clinic, will explain why an activity adapted to the individual’s capabilities can have a positive effect and how the group therapy approach of work as a resource works in the workshop for those affected at the Selo symposium 2024.
Other highly interesting topics: treatment-resistant depression, depression in children and adolescents, ADHD in adults and the situation of human rights in psychiatric care in Switzerland.
The Selo symposium will take place on 30 October 2024 in Zug and is open to those affected and interested as well as professionals from medicine, psychology, psychiatry, HR or social services. The Science for All Association, together with the EQUILIBRIUM Association for Coping with Depression and the AMEOS Seeklinikum Brunnen, are the organisers. Life Science Communication is responsible for organising and running the conference.
Medical professionals will receive four credits from SGPP/SGAIM as extended continuing education for attending the conference.
All information, the detailed programme and registration for the 14th Selo symposium on 30 October 2024 in the Burgbachsaal in Zug can be found on the website.
