About one in seven people are affected by carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger. These functional disorders of the hand and wrist cause pain, numbness and restrict mobility. Surgical intervention is necessary to correct them. The Swiss medtech start-up Spirecut has now developed a new, patented procedure in which this operation can be performed guided by ultrasound. This has the advantage that the operation is performed without an incision, but through a puncture. The operation takes only a few minutes and requires only a local anesthesia, and the patient can use his hand the same day.
The new surgical instruments will be available on the Swiss market as of this year and later in the EU as well as the USA. For the launch, Life Science Communication has developed and implemented a classic PR campaign for Spirecut.
