The pandemic has taught us many things. For example, that there is still a lot of room for improvement in terms of communication between science, politics and the working world. Therefore, a dialogue event of the National Research Program “Covid-19” (NRP 78) and the Swiss Federation of Trades and Crafts will take place on August 25 at 13:00 to 18:00 at Welle7 in Bern. The aim is the exchange between researchers and representatives of industry and commerce, so that we are better prepared for future waves or pandemics. The exchange will be organized using the World Café method, so that participants can directly discuss expectations, misunderstandings, requirements and proposed solutions. In addition, Casimir Platzer, President of GastroSuisse, and Marcel Salathé, President of the Steering Committee of NRP 78, will hold a debate on the topic: “Who benefits from fundamental research if no one goes to the pub anymore?”
The event will be held in German and French. English-speaking participants are welcome, but there will be no simultaneous translation.
